It would've been Dark Star if it was up to Phil............
Don't you folks remember Phil hinting (quite obvious) at Dark Star coming out of space? I was so disappointed Bob steered them into Eternity. Oh Bob, you just ruined what could've been the best show in a very long time. Great show though.......

sad endings
There are not to many endings in life that are full of happiness and cheer, this is not any different. I find it tough to listen to only because I know the end of the story our beloved hero is gone.
I know that because I saw my shows in the early 80's this doesn't have the sound am use to therefore makes it more sad. For those of you that this was your touring years all well and good for you, just not for me. I am trying to listen to see why anyone would call it best ever. Maybe because your best ever happened in the 90's.

Find my own way home
There is some good music here!
Jerry never gives up.
I really like his vocals toward the end of FIRE and also with STELLA.
(In both tunes he catches the lyric and repeats it in a very soulful way.)
There is some good flow to this show and the SPACE jam is like a fine wine.
Listening to this soundboard you can really hear the band play and that is what it was all about.
Sound= 5 Music = 3.5 (but better in spots)

Great '95
This is not a bad show--if I may use an understatement. I had bigger expectations for Playing' in the Band, but everything else is pretty solid. I'm so glad I flew up to WA for this one. If you like the "new" stuff, Eternity is beautiful. The Scarlet/Fire takes this show to unsurpassed heights. If call this a 3 star (or less) recording, , a 3.5 show overall, but the Scarlet Fire is 10 stars. The 5 star rating is for the SF you cannot overlook.

hard to believe
hard to believe that this show is from '95. Ive yet to hear a show from the last tour that is even decent. Vince was terrible, his songs UNLISTENABLE! (he was always terrible, but man alive, he didnt sound this bad since late '90, '91- did he play on a Casio keybord from RadioShack??). Bobbies guitar sound is horrendous (ever since '85 really). Anywho, this show does sound inspired. Jerry isnt stumbling through like ALL '95 shows (hell, most post-Brent shows period). I dont mean to criticize, but they shoulda took an indefinite break after Brent died. Thats what Jerry and Billy wanted. They almost seemed a novelty act after that. Could you honestly put on ANY Jerry ballad from fall '90-'95 over ANYTHING from before that?? a version of Loser from '93 or one from '80?? The only ballads worth a damn from the late era are Lazy River Road & The Days Between. Something happened to the band and Jerry especially, when Brent died. Playing because they HAD to, not wanted to. Hornsby was downright annoying at times (accordian...need i say more), and Vince was, well Vince. it gets 2 stars, cause ALL other '95 shows get zero.

absolutely phenomenal show.
Wow, I had just about given up on '95 and couldn't bear to listen to any of the shows because of the thought of how few were left of the original band in tact. This show however, is like the spiral light of venus, rising first and shining best!
God, every song, jerry's playing, it brings tears to my eyes. Right from the opening through UJB, Stella Blue, and the first time I have every heard "Liberty."
Oooo, Leave me alone to find my own way home!

The Last of the Best...
This may be the last truly great show. Almost every other show in '95 pales in comparison. Garcia is on fire this night. His guitar is crisp and out front, not buried in the mix as with most shows from this tour. His lead runs are inspired and filled with emotion. What a great Help>Slip>Franklin's Tower and a Scarlet>Fire that's right up there with the best of them. Jerry pulls out some of my personal favorite Mutron III effects just. Not too much cheesy playing from Vince or MIDI. The rest of the band is playing great as well. Anyone know any other '95 shows that compare?
Great sounding SBD.
